Big Island Christian Church

I was saved by grace in May of '03. By '04, I enrolled in seminary courses through Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary while serving as a pastor intern to Don Guthrie at First Baptist Church, San Antonio. In '06, I moved from my hometown of San Antonio to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. I met my wife, Christine, late in '10 while teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Dallas. We were married in May of '11, and I was blessed with two (step) daughters, Delanie and Allie. I graduated from Liberty University's Rawlings School of Divinity with a graduate degree (M.Div) in 2014. We now have four children: Delanie, Allie, Connor, and Hannah. From '17-'23, we lived in Poetry, TX, while I pastored a small rural SBC church. In June of '24, we moved to the Big Island of Hawaii to pastor a local EFCA church. And in January of '25, we planted Big Island Christian Church... God is moving here on the Big Island!

I'm passionate about exalting Christ Jesus as the eternal Son of God, the only Way, Truth, and Life. My life and ministry is marked by a bold commitment to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Eph. 4), contending for the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3), and calling the local church (people not a place) to live fully surrendered lives that reflect the glory and grace of our risen King.

I am zealous to see the church actively rejecting conformity to the world’s pattern by embracing the WORD of God as supremely authoritative through biblical discipleship and eagerly awaiting Christ’s return with lives poured out for Him through mission—gathering, growing, giving, and going for the name and fame of Jesus Christ!
